The end of life is a fraught, difficult time whenever and however it comes. But there are organizations dedicated to making the transition easier, including Hospice Maui.

For four decades, local doctors and families have turned to Hospice Maui to assist with the final months and weeks of patients’ lives, helping them move on with dignity and compassion.

Per the agency’s mission statement, “Caring for a dying person can be one of the most physically, emotionally, and spiritually challenging things one will ever do. [Our] team of professional staff are there to ease the stresses of caregiving, and support family members in making the very most of the singular opportunities that caring for a dying loved one can bring.”

You can aid this worthy endeavor by working directly with patients, or assisting in fundraising, administrative work, community outreach, facilities and equipment maintenance, or with a tax-deductible cash donation.
