With recent changes to one of Maui’s obstetric community providers, Mālama I Ke Ola Health Center is actively working to address access and demand. As a federally qualified health center, Mālama I Ke Ola operates on a federal mandate with a community focus to provide safe and quality care, specifically for uninsured and underinsured patients.
With the severe shortage of medical professionals across all specialties, the change to any services can lead to worry and concern about safe, high quality health care access for all of Maui County residents. The goal is to support solutions wherever possible, and to that end, they are in active discussions with community partners, medical providers and insurance plans to identify strategies for increased capacity to meet the current and rising health care needs of the community.
Mālama I Ke Ola Health Center’s mission is to provide culturally sensitive, coordinated primary care services emphasizing education, prevention, and advocacy, regardless of one’s ability to pay at the time of visit.
