SANCTUARY SEA CHAT: SEEING SPOTS, HAWAIʻI’S WHALE SHARKS

A deep dive into whale sharks in Hawaiian waters and the research being done to aid in the conservation of our world’s largest fish, Rhincodon Typus.

Maria Harvey will be speaking about her research on whale sharks in Hawai’i through her organization Hawai’i Uncharted Research Collective (HURC). Using satellite tags and genetic sampling, HURC is working to gain valuable insight in the movements of whale sharks seen in the state to aid in local and global conservation efforts.

Come learn about their research, local threats, and their ongoing citizen science project on Thursday, April 20th from 6-7:30pm at: Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary
