The University of Hawaiʻi’s men’s basketball team saw its season come to a heartbreaking conclusion with a 62-60 overtime loss on Thursday. The defeat came against Cal State Fullerton in the first round of the Big West Conference Championship in Nevada.

UH’s Noel Coleman hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to extra minutes, and UH jumped out to an early 60-57 advantage. But the Rainbow Warriors ultimately let the contest slip away.

Samuta Avea starred for UH, pouring in 19 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.

Also on the bright side, the ‘Bows won two preseason tournaments and posted their highest win total in seven years.
